Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 2026
1. Booking & Confirmation
All bookings are provisional until confirmed in writing by our team. We aim to respond to every submission within 24 hours by email or WhatsApp. A signed digital confirmation constitutes acceptance of these terms.
2. Payment
A deposit may be required to secure specialty experiences (overnight home stays, group hikes, boma visits). Full payment is due before the start of the tour, in USD, EUR, or TZS. Cash, mobile money, and bank transfer are accepted.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations 7+ days before the tour: full refund minus transaction fees. 3–6 days: 50% refund. Less than 72 hours: no refund. Walk With Petty reserves the right to cancel or modify a tour for safety, weather, or force majeure reasons and will offer a reschedule or full refund in that case.
4. Safety & Conduct
Our guides are trained in first aid and route safety. Guests are expected to follow the guide's instructions at all times, respect local communities, and behave responsibly. Alcohol, illegal substances, and drone use without prior permission are prohibited on tours.
5. Health & Physical Fitness
You must disclose any medical condition or physical limitation on the booking form. Some tours (Highland Hiking, cycling) require reasonable fitness. Travel insurance covering medical and evacuation costs is strongly recommended.
6. Cultural Respect
When visiting a Maasai boma, private home, or daycare, please dress modestly, ask before photographing individuals, and honor local customs. Small gifts should be given through the guide, not directly, to ensure fair distribution.
7. Environment
Leave no trace. Do not pick plants, disturb wildlife, or leave litter on the trails. Reusable water bottles are provided or highly encouraged.
8. Social Impact & Donations
A percentage of tour proceeds is directed to our community projects — daycare, school supplies, and support for vulnerable families. Guests wishing to donate additional supplies or funds may do so through our official channels only.
9. Liability
Walk With Petty Organization takes every reasonable precaution but is not liable for personal injury, illness, loss, or damage to belongings arising from participation, except where caused by our proven negligence.
10. Photography & Media
We may photograph tours for our website and social media. If you prefer not to be photographed, please tell your guide at the start of the day.
11. Data & Privacy
Personal information collected via our booking form is used only to organize your tour, contact you, and issue receipts. We never sell your data. Contact us to request deletion of your records at any time.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Disputes will be settled amicably where possible, or through the courts of Arusha.
